Stuffing box help needed

Are there any owners of an oday 28 out there that can tell me which way to pack the stuffing box? I can't remember whether to wrap it clockwise or counter clockwise. A swift reply would be helpfull. Thanks. I've got a yanmar ysm8 engine.Thanks againTom Hurley

My Yanmar manual says it rotates CCW when looking at it from the stern, if that helps.I'm not sure I understand the question. Aren't you supposed to cut the flax into 4 or 5 rings and offset the joints?[Edit]I just found this:http://www.boatus.com/boattech/Casey/StuffingBox.htm" A common mistake is winding the new packing around the shaft as a continuous piece.
