FWIW, my two "new" winch handles - bought used on eBay for $85 for the pair, purchased parts from Harken, disassembled, cleaned, polished, lubed, reassembled. Good as new! I love doing stuff like this.
Yes, but the Amazon purchaser got it delivered to their door rather than having to drive to Walmart and search for the item which may or may not be there (ask me how I know). $7 is not too bad a price to pay for saving the drive and the waiting in line, IMO.
I ordered some off Amazon and found it interesting. It's outstanding characteristic is that it has a more definitive resting point. Standard loop and hook fasteners have a kind of "mooshy" mounting point. You put the pieces together and there's still some noticeable wiggle in all dimensions. The dual lock tape, once snapped into place, holds firmly to that position. I can see why it is a good choice for mounting faceplates and the like.
Fortunately, the stuff is cheap enough that one could test it themselves to see if it suits their needs.
I have WalMart Plus, which is like Amazon Prime. Delivered to my door, often the same day, and groceries, too!
