I have a 1988 Cat 30 TRBS Mark II. I am thinking of redoing my stern pulpit over the Winter. Does anyone know if a replacement pulpit is made for the Matk II that incorporates the stern seats as found on many of the newer models? Thanks.

You can contact Railmakers who provided the OEM Rails for Catalina. To give you an idea I contacted them last month after bending the stern starboard stanchion (this is the part that would include a seat). The price, and I did not ask if a seat was available was $295.00 plus $150-175 for shipping. I have considered purchasing the aftermarket stern seats that are available but have decided to hold off. These are not bad, but there is a support leg that rests on the helmsman seat. I am just not sure if I like this look. Thanks chief. I have the stern perch seats, purchased them at a boat show. They are green, never used, I will be selling them. They conflict with my bimini and I didn't like having them on the helsman seat. I like the new design of the pulpits because they bend out the stern rail and give you more room to sit. I may be interested in ordering a new pulpit for next year. If you are still interested we may be able to get a break on the shipping.

I would be curious what they would get for the two rear stanchions with seats (if they offer them for our vintage Cat 30). After checking the web address I sent to you, I now know why I never purchased the Perch Seats. They actually look good on the older Cat 30's, the ones without the Swim Ladder. I know exactly where you are located in New jersey, perhaps they would work a special deal and save us some money on shipping.

I was interested in the new Stern Pulpit for the C30s that has the seats included in them and extend aft of the cockpit. I contacted Catalina Parts and they said that they sell these for the C30 with seats and swim ladder opening for $750. I have not seen a good picture of them however, but I assume they work siilar to the design that is on the newer boats where the seet hangs out of the cockpit over the swim transom. I think this may be the improvement that I add in the spring.

I have a C30 "Tall Rig" Hull Number 3650. I called Catalina Parts directly and I am pretty sure the guy said $750. This was about 2 months ago. If they quoted you $850, one of 2 things may have happened: 1) They raised the price due to demand. 2) I should not have been using aluminum cookware in the 1980's. -Bill

Are we talking about getting a new stern pulpit for vintage Cat '30's that has built-in seats like the newer models have? If so, I assume they'd use the same stanchion mounts? My '87 already has a swim ladder built in, would the new stern pulpit keep it or would I lose the ladder to gain the seats?? If I could get built-in seats like the newer models, I'd be thrilled. I'm not too keen on the idea of paying so much $$ for the Sternperch seats. Thanks... Jim

THAT'S exactly what I'm looking for! I'll have to give Catalina Parts a call and see what the deal is. The split backstay appears to be in the way just a bit from the seats, but it's not like it's unmanagable. Interesting possibilities!! Thanks for the pics! Jim
