Squeaky rudder post

Hello everyone, been away for a long time, winter in Canada.
As I am getting ready to work on the boat I have a very squeaky rudder post, my Pearson 30 has been modified from tiller to wheel by a PO.
I was thinking about dropping the rudder and installing a teflon disc to stop the annoying noise. Do you all think it is a good idea?

Where is it rubbing? What kind of rudder bearing is there? Do you have a drawing or photo of the problem area?
Delrin might be a better choice as it is very hard and slippery.
