Just bought a 1986 Hunter 34. It has the spinnaker, halyard, and pole but no other hardware or running rigging. Any help with a shopping list specific to this size or model. Also length and diamater of sheets?

5/16" Sheets about 60' each and ....

two snap blocks to attach to the toe rail. Personally I like the cruising chute with a sock but then again I wasn't a serious racer.

email me at bodonovan@vagazette.com for free pix and directions for 8-foot bowsprit to keep the spin away from blanketing by the main.

Rick, before you buy the sheets check....

to make sure they are the right size for your winch and tailers that you intend to use for your spin clew sheets. We went with 7/16 and they were almost too small. Terry

Sheets

On my 28.5 I have 1/2 inch sheets. Same diameter as the jib/Genoa sheets. Length should be about twice the length of the boat each. Tie them to the tack using bowlines with the tag end inside of the bowline so it doesn't hang up when tacking. Halyard should be the same as the main halyard. Snap blocks should be attached as far back as possible to both of the aft corners with the sheets being fed through them from outside the lifelines. Use a short halyard from a rollar block at mid mast to hold up the wisker pole. Go to North U. for more information. Best of luck.
