hello all
I have the spinlock powercleats on my boat.. they work great, but you do need to install the wedges under them to give you proper clearance to lock down the ropes.. if you don't put in the wedges, then you have to reach up and rock the powercleat to the locked position each time you adjust the rope.. I have all my powercleats on top of my cabin where I bring all my ropes back to the cockpit.. my mainsheet is set up with a cleat attached to the block.. I clamp it off at the block with the cleat..
the pictures are how I had the powercleats set up on my Mac25.. I have since parted ways with my Mac25, and now sail a Kittiwake 23.. I am partial to full keel boats, and am placing my powercleats on this new boat in the same fashion to bring all my ropes back to the cockpit.. I enjoy having everything back near me n the cockpit, so I do not have to go up on the deck unless I have a problem..
sincerely
Jess
