Whenever we are in a marina but any amount of time we always seem to accumulate bugs on board. Sometimes it's roaches EEEEK! or spiders or even ants. So as soon as we moored in a different location we always spray our ropes lines. It stops the little boogers from getting on board because after all they have to crawl down the dock lines to get on!We keep our boat slipped at a marina on a lake in the Midwest. As the summer has progressed, I’ve increasingly encountered spiders on the boat after a week or sometimes two between sailing outings. The last time they were everywhere topside. Harmless (I think/hope!), but super annoying... mainly because they make webs everywhere.
Anybody know of a good product, not harmful to people and not (too) bad for the environment, for keeping spiders from making their home one the boat?
Our glide in on a silk parachute, which is a common way for spiders to invade. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ballooning_(spider). Rope guards and coatings won't stop that.yup. rats.
A spider would just go up the rope through the hole that is there.
