Does anybody have a good location for a cockpit speaker(s) on a C-27, 1978?

Coaming

I bought some cheap box speakers, rectangular shape wedges from Radio Shack. I siliconed them into the back of the coaming box. They are out of the weather enough to survive 4 years of use. I think they were about $40 on sale. They sound great!

Speakers for a C27

On Mistess I installed speakers on the stern rail. I did not want to penetrate the hull so I purchased "bulk head mount" type speakers from West Marine. I fabricted wire loops from 1/8" brazing rod and covered the rod with aquarium tubing. I fashioned the "hangers" so they are easily reomved from the rail for storage. As for the connections I purchsed two small SST vents. I fabriacated from a plastic bottle an insulating tab and gasket where I attached a small phono plug. I used shrink tubing to seal it all up. I mounted the vent /plugs under port and strbd. stern rails. The vents point down, the plug points up and all stays dry. Have been using this system for 4 years now and it works great.
