Speaker wires on C310

Has anyone installed their own speakers on the C310 in the saloon using the existing speaker wires that are pre-routed? I am wondering where the ends of the wires can be found (I have already installed the speakers under the aft seats in the cockpit, but am unsure where to start looking for the forward wires.) I am assuming that they must be led up to at least the wall between the forward berth and the saloon, but when I reach up into the gap between the hull and deck I can not immediately find them. Any help would be appreciated.

Cabin speaker wires?

Your cabin is pre-wired for speakers? That is nice! We have an earlier C310 that just had short wires routed through the Stern railing, and no speaker wires in the cabin. I had to run my own, and it wasn't much fun.

Speaker wires

The wires are located next to the foreward cabin bulkhead, hidden behind the wood trim , just feel with your fingers & you shoud find them. I installed 6X9 speakers cutting a hole thru the wood, the sound is wonderful. I dont't know if Catalina aproves of this sort of installation but on my maiden voyage I encountered winds at 59 knots & have not noticed any problems associated with this type of speaker mounts.Good LuckTim

Tim,Thanks for the info. Did you have to cut any of the tie wraps to bring the wires down, or did they pull down without much trouble. I am assuming that they are on both sides of the cabin at the forward bulkheads.59knt winds on the maiden voyage, that must have been a wild ride!!Thanks again,Matt
