To Answer Chuck & Soling 42....
Chuck-Although I live in Mobile, Alabama, my boat is docked in Pascagoula, Mississippi, about 30 miles from my house. But since I work at Northrop Grumman Ship Systems in Pascagoula, I usually spend several nights during the week on the boat. Specifically, she's docked in the city marina, one of the best places to keep a boat in the area. Horn Island, a long slender and wooded island off the coast of Mississippi, is a wonderful destination for sailors. Although Hurricane Katrina hit it hard, destroying approximately 1-1/2 miles on the eastern end and severely damaging the west end, not to mention killing most of the trees and vegatation, its still a great place to visit. The "horseshoe" is a good place to anchor especially when winds are southerly. However, be careful with winds from any other direction. Just east of Horn is Sand Island, a small manmade spot of land on the west side of the Pascagoula Ship Channel. Across the channel to the east is Petit Bois Island, another long slender island protected, like Horn, by the National Seashore Parks System. Like Horn, there are many great anchoring spots on the north side, again, in southerly winds only. Since you plan to sail to Pensacola, you may want to watch one of my other videos on YouTube....May 2006 Sailing Trip. Here's the link....Soling42-I use Windows Movie Maker....that's all! While sailing I take hundreds of photos and some videos with my digital camera....sit down at the computer and play...and since I sail with a bunch of great guys who also take and share photos, I incorporate them into my movies....I'm glad you like them.Dick
