Former Live-aboard
As a former Live Aboard I know all about marina noise. I have been known to climb on deck in December in my skivies to quiet a slapping line. I guess I can't decide between the sound of less curtious sailors' halyards slapping, and the Commerical fisherman heading out to the water at 5:00 AM. I watched the same fisherman come back well after dark on many days, so out of respect for his hard work I never mentioend my sleeping trouble to him.To tell you the truth, I would happily put up with it all agin to get away from the sounds of my present nieghborhood (dogs, Navy jets, and screaming nieghbors...)
