A few weeks or so ago, someone was asking about a yellow reel for storing the power cords and water hoses. Well, we went to the state fair here and saw one today. Both my wife and I were impressed with the thing, at first. After thinking about it for a while, we decided it wasn't such a great idea.To use this thing, you need to first thread the power cord through the center of the unit so you have half of the cord on one side, and the other half on the other side. When you want to use it, you unreel it from both sides, and you end up with this unit about half way between the shore plug and boat plug. So if you are using a 50' power cord on a 30-40' boat, you pretty much have all the power cords out on the deck, that also means you now have this thingy in the middle of the deck. It will bake in the summer and mossy in the winter. I just think it is more trouble than it is worth. For home electrical cords, where you use it, then put it away, it should work great.
