ok incase anyone is interested.....i am posting some of my upgrades.....
st is the navpod arrangement that i came up with(and a little help from the site and sailing mags)...i completely disassembled the edson pedestal...bead blasted it and had it re anodized.... added the Edson shift controls and new teleflex extreme cables.... ran all the wires down the pedestal( thanks to Chris Patterson for the idea on the autopilot wires) and pedestal guard that i had to extend in height about 14 inches in order to have the chart plotter above the Ritchie compass.... also mounted my vhf cockpit mic and concealed the wires in the pedestal guard tube ...theses nav pods cost me about $80.00 and a few hrs of my time...about 1 sixth of factory made ones..... the garmin shelf is a embellishment of MaineSails example.... thanks Maine
nd is the engine control panel and shower box with the alarm buzzer on top center..... had to make the wiring harness from the extension cable to interface with the 2gm20f engine using all yanmar connectors....and added oil pressure and water temp sending units..and also a trombetta solenoid for the electric engine shut down
rd is the forward hatch that i found a Texas salvage yard...bead blasted it and had it anodized and reglazed it with new plexiglass/lexan and gasket ...used dow 795 adhesive sealant...was going to emulate the original one but found this nice bomar hatch on a morgan and decided to use it instead at about 20% of making a new original S2
th i added a bow roller to handle my bruce 22 lb anchor in that process i had to move the starboard and port lights back in order to gain the room for the roller trough.....plugged the old holes with tig welder and ground and polished them out
