Right, but what has not been brought up is the fact that 2 parallel 80 watt panels will exhibit traits of a single 160 watt panel. You just have to accept that both 80's output will be negatively affected by shade on one but not much different than shading on the 160 watt one. Thats my point in Ricks case. Chief

I too have been looking at the Renogy kit. Have you found any other problems? It looks lake a single panel, with one cable coming from it, what cable was too short? Would you not recommend this kit?

So far we like the panels but we have only been doing tests with them. Probably another 2 weeks before we have the system fully up.

Here is an article from my blog I did on my initial test. There are some pictures of the junction boxes. The wires on the panels are only meant to be short pigtails that are connected to longer wires.
