I'm trying to find a slip in the Panama City area at a price I can afford. I have found one but it appears that during the winter when we get a wind from the north at low time, the boat will sit on the bottom (sand/mud). Boat is a 1995 Catalina 270 with a wing keel. Any ideas on how "good or bad" this may be? I'm a new-bee so any thoughts are good ones! Thanks folks!

Jet it out

If you are in the same position as we are here on the Coast which is "take what you can get", you may consider jetting out the area where your keel will sit. If you take a garden hose and get a PVC reducer from the hose to a 1/2" PVC pipeyou can jet the area under your keel creating a depression. Kinda like a brim bed. You may have to do it a few times to open the area up after it settles. Just a thought. the owner may or may not like it, but if they are not going to scrape the barnacle off a midnight trip may be in order. Hope it helps.
