Sierious rust on motor mount

I have a C30 with the 5411 Universal diesel engine. When I first bought her a year ago, I noticed quite a lot of rust on the mounts. I figured it was probably just neglect by the previous owner and just wire brushed the mounts and spay painted them with a rust inhibitor-type paint. After a period of time there is again a LOT of rust and corrosion, especially on one mount. Any ideas where this is coming from? Could it have anything to do with electrolysis or is it just an old tired engine doing it's thing?ThanksChris

Other things to look for

I have the exact same prob as you. I also noticed the mounts have cracked and vibrate loose over time. So i think you should not just look for loose mounts but put a wrench to them. and make sure they are tight.I bet you can take one mount out at a time and clean degrease and respray with a good paint, and get professional results.cole
