I just replaced my Shur-flo fresh water pump and now I have an interesting problem. I can't get it to pull a prime or even keep the prime. I've pressurized the intake side and it keeps the pressure. In other words, no air intake leaks up to the pump. I've also traced all the pressure side lines and there were no water leaks. This leads me to the pump itself. I'm wondering if there should be suction on the intake side if I put my hand over the intake port, there is not. Should a fresh water pump pull a vaccum on the intake side? When I prime the system artificially it will pump water but only for 30 seconds or so than it looses its prime. Any advise appreciated because I'm running out of patience on this issue. Oh and by the way, yes, the tank has water in it.
