The manuals for single spreader rigs that came with all Catalina yachts are among the best I have seen. Without any equipment other than what's needed to adjust the turnbuckles you should be able to properly set up your rig. I have been doing so since 1983.

If you are asking about a specific tension number that is based on the diameter and type of the wire. Also it would seem you have a loose gauge. The manual for the gauge will tell you what to set the tension at.
But as Stu said, Catalina has a good qualitative procedure for mast tuning and you don't need a gauge.

Bob, that's because I gave it to richierich in another one of his posts on the same day as this original one. I also suggested he post there, on the C25 Association website. Surpised he's mad he doesn't get it here...
This link stated 10-15% Not that I understand much of this. Definitely want to look into a loos gauge.
