I have come across a posting that shows the lengths for the various running and standing rigging measurements for the O'day 25. It mentions that the length for the standing rigging is from "pin to pin" and most people say that is with the turn buckle fully closed. Should I assume then that there is still a couple of inches from that measurement to the attachment point?

If that was the memo from O'DAY circa 1979, listing the dimensions for all models offered at that time, then the lengths are with the turnbuckles fully closed (that is tightest rigging, since shroud/stay lengths are as short as can be). Most riggers base measurements on having the turnbuckles about 1/2 open, so I would check the difference in the turnbuckle adjustment between fully closed and 1/2 open and add that to the lengths.

Thanks Sunbird for jumping in. Yeah, that's the one I have seen floating around. I am doing my own rigging so I need to get it right. So, to be clear, lets use the headstay length noted above as an example. If I were to make the shroud to the 30' 10" noted from "eye to eye" - which includes a closed turnbuckle, I should be short by a couple of inches or so to allow for the opening of the turnbuckle to provide for tension, right? I am upgrading the turnbuckles so I know I have to allow for the difference in length between the two. For me, I suppose it would be beneficial/better to know the distance between the connection points rather than the wire lengths, then any combination of anything a person chose could be made to work.
Does anybody have the specs for a 1985 26'? I am literally replacing everything in the boat this year so I might as well change all riggings etc.
