This is a stupid question ......but I have never used shore power on my Cat30. I am going away for a week for Christmas and will probably have a berth on one night with shore power. Would be handy for the admiral's hairdryer..... Do I just stick in the plug? Is there anything that needs to be switched on or off? I assume the manual mentions something, but it is on the boat, and I am not sure it does mention anything about shore power. I know the PO has used it, so all that should be there is there... Sorry for asking the obvious, but I'ld rather not fry the whole system!

I had an old model 30 but..

Make sure your circiut breaker on the dock is on, then there is probably a switch on your electrical panel, on the AC side. I would also imagine there would be a corresponding advisory light to tell you AC power is available but sometimes they burn out. Just plug in your accessories and it should work. If it doesn't you have to start trouble shooting.

First step, turn battery on. Second step, ensure all switches on the AC side of the panel are off. The plug will only go in one way, take a look at the prongs, plug in the cord to the boat, then plug in to the dock. Check for the reverse current indicator it should be off. If it is burned out, the AC master will probably not Turn on. Turn on the AC master, turn on the A/C switches one at a time. If you have one labeled "Outlets", turn it on first and plug something in to test for power. Depending on what you have you may not be able to run all the AC circuits at the same time. If you don't have power, check for power on the dock before you tear the boat apart. You should have time to read the manual enroute to your destination, it is only a few pages long.
