Shaft seal

I had a PSS shaft seal installed last year. When boat is launched do I have to do antything with the bellows?

Burp it!

Mike,All you need to do is burp the seal to get the air out of it. Push/compress the assy aft until the water squirts in(and how!)then release. That's it.

The reason we burp!

Mike,The REASON you burp the PSS is that if you don't, air will remain around your shaft and seal, not cooling, lubricating water. As a result, your seal will wear to eventual failure. It's easy to do, just don't forget to do it!All Good WishesRon Hughes s/v "Best Revenge" H 40.5
