Anyone ever been successful in snaking through the boom and if so, how? Tried from both ends today and there apparently is something inside through which I cannot get another line to run. Attaching a new one to an existing line won't help as I need to run it through a third sheave.

Don - I just finished replacing my #3 reefing line on Persephone today, and used a method you might consider. At the gooseneck, the #3 reefing line enters on the top next to the entry for the #1 reefing line (which is on the most outboard starboard sheave). I just fed the new line over its gooseneck sheave into the little cavity aft of the goosneck which Selden provides for access. I then taped the new #3 line side-by-side with the #1 (tapering the tape on the bitter end of the new line) and pulled some extra #1 reefing line through and aft out the boom end, dragging the new #3 with it. I then untaped the two and pulled the slack #1 line back to where it belonged. Easier than sewing new #3 bitter end butt-on to the old #3 bitter end. Just remove the old, and add the new. Easy as pie. Fair winds, Al
