Don -I just finished replacing my #3 reefing line on Persephone today, and used a method you might consider. At the gooseneck, the #3 reefing line enters on the top next to the entry for the #1 reefing line (which is on the most outboard starboard sheave).I just fed the new line over its gooseneck sheave into the little cavity aft of the goosneck which Selden provides for access. I then taped the new #3 line side-by-side with the #1 (tapering the tape on the bitter end of the new line) and pulled some extra #1 reefing line through and aft out the boom end, dragging the new #3 with it.I then untaped the two and pulled the slack #1 line back to where it belonged.Easier than sewing new #3 bitter end butt-on to the old #3 bitter end. Just remove the old, and add the new. Easy as pie.Fair winds,Al
