Listen to Alan he knows what he`s talking about. Look for a decent small boat in sailable condition and sell off what you have for a start. As far as big box store rope and galvanized
iron blocks I wouldnt. If your gonna do this and you like working with your hands you can find
used line and used hardware on line

Thanks everyone for the input. After some further research, I've found several other project boats that cost less than what my budget (plus some) is for this Ensenada and are much more complete with sail-ready parts.

I've decided to part the Ensenada out and buy a more sail-ready boat to ensure a July 4th kickoff.

I'm sure this is not the proper forum but if you need parts, I've got them!

Granger, you are my type of people. Thanks for your advice as this is the route I'll most likely take. Also, you'll probably be able to see this boat at some point because SML is where she'll be when she's not on the Potomac. I worked three summers on the docks of Bridewater's and Bernards and know that lake well.

Hi. Nice to here about your Ensenada. I have a 1977 RK-21 which is very similar to the Ensenada and Balboa 20's. My interior is also shot -- far worse than yours, I would say. Forget your existing budget. I spent $800 in the first 2 months just on expendables, one sail repair, replacing main and jib halyards, buying a hinged deckplate assemply and mast step, a tiller handle and bracket, and some trailer hardware. It's very hard to keep the focus on getting it to *safely sail*. Like the others here, push for saleability and get it on the water. The other stuff can come later!
