i need to replace the rubber seal aroung the plastic window between the aluminum frame and the plastic can someone tell me where to get the rubber from
I bought some from Catalina Direct. The only problem (?) with Catalina Direct is they have no on line ordering, must call their order desk. Otherwise they have a very good selection of Catalina parts.
I JUST FINISHED THAT TASK...NOT FUN..I ORDERED THE RUBGER REPLACEMENT AND THE SEALANT FROM CATALINA DIRECT... THE RUBBER COMES IN A ROLL AND YOU JUST CUT TO FIF. THE WINDOW , IF ORIGINAL IS SEALED WITH A COMPOUND, GUM LIKE GRAY, THAT IS NOT THE EASIEST TO REMOVE.... TAKE YOUR TIME AND ALL WILL WORK OUT. GOOD LUCK..
I forget where I found this option, but I think it was on Catalina's website. Instead of removing and replacing the rubber seal they had an alternate fix. Using an exacto knife cut the seal all the way around the port at about a 45 degree angle to the window. Remove the cut portion of the seal. You should now have a groove between the window and the frame. Clean the groove and window with Acetone. Let dry 10 minutes. Caulk the groove using grey RTV. It helps to tape off the window. Smooth and remove excess RTV with a spatula or spoon. Remove tape and let dry.I did this both inside and outside to two leaking ports. So far it has been a year and no leaks.
