My boat is in Oceanside Harbor, about 40 miles north of San Diego. We have some of the lowest slip fees in the southland, but I want to move up in boat size. O'side harbor wait list is very long, like 7 to 8 years for a 34' slip. Too long of a wait. Even though I have a boat there I am still on the waiting list for a 26' slip. Been on it for over 5 years now.
My other option is Camp Pendleton Marina. However, the wait list is just as long. Active Duty military have priority and bump Retired Military. I have not moved on the list in the last 5 years.
So my option is either don't get a bigger boat (unless it is in Oside Harbor) or move to San Diego. However, with the current proposed increase I think I am going to can the idea. Dana Point in Orange County is twice the cost of Oceanside.
How are the prices in your marina? Maybe we should start a sticky with marina slip fees so people visiting the site can see what to expect in there neck of the woods.
