Look for...
I agree with Frank. It does not matter what configuration the rig is. any failor is likely to cause a demasting.Some things to look for...change in tension.Missing carterpins--do NOT use those circle clips! Lines grab them ant pull themthrough with out you even noticing. It happened to me.Crackes in turnbuckles.Look for seperation at the deck mount-spliting caulk.Rotted bulk wood at the chain plates. thake the plates off one day. It may look fine around the plate, but a small water leak could continuously may develop rot in that area. Mounting screws that have heads that are not flat to the hard ware. Streching bolts.Replace shroud or stay if even one strand of cable is spliting off. It is not very expensive.Rusted connections.Oxodization at any rivit or mating surface.Good luck.Mark G.
