sail trim for cutter question

I understand where mainsail travelers should be set, what about staysails?my staysail has a pin-stop traveler, but I usually leave the car in the middle of the traveler. What is best for sail trim? should I think of making this a windward sheeting type of setup, or let the car move to leeward as I tack?

It depends on what you're looking for

Set it and forget it is NOT my game, but it is for a lot of folks. If you want to trim it right then put in a way of making the adjustments easy. Going forward to change the pin settings wont cut it. That's why you set it in the middle and forget it.

but should the sail be upwind of the centerline?

I know I don't like the set it/forget mentallity, but making this change possible from the cockpit will not be a no-brainer....How are the sails supposed to be trimmed?Would a windward sheeting system be appropriate? Or does the sail work better to leeward of the centerline?
