Last summer about 50 boats from the Trailer Sailor Association signed up for a two-week cruise in the Canadian North Channel. For the last week of the cruise, SAIL magazine assigned a reporter, Rebecca Waters, to sail with us. She did a very nice article on the cruise in the Feb 2007 issue of SAIL. I've been told that SAIL "ran out" of copies and several subscribers I know of never got their copy. One person says this is a common occurrence. My question: I was under the impression that industry practice was to serve subscribers before distributing newsstand issues. After some reflection, I came to the conclusion that this is naive - as they already have our money. Is this a common occurrence, or a one time thing - what is your experience? Did you get your Feb 2007 issue of SAIL?
