Life Jacket and tether
Even with netting, I'd vote for a life jacket whenever he's on the boat, and a tether if he's really active. We had and still have lacings on our life lines, intended to secure racing Genoas but our assumption was it was adequate protection to keep our Black Lab on board. Not so! One breezy spring cruise she was walking around the fore deck, as she had become acustomed to over the years; she slipped and skidded BACKWARDS thru the lacings that would have otherwise held her.We had a little bit of a fire drill, but recovered her safely. After that all our dogs have worn life jackets and the younger active ones are tethered in the cockpit. Your post reminded me of getting a new lifevest for our Grandson, as he will likely be comming for visits as it warms up.Be safe!
