James called me this morning. The excitement in his voice foretold the message.

SABA IS BACK IN THE WATER!
:dancing:

Some of you may remember Hurricane Zeta. It came ashore at the end of October 2020. The storm surge exceeded the forecast, sending a 14ft wave up the canal Saba was using as a hurricane shelter. The surge snapped the lines securing Saba and tossed her up onto the bank, puncturing her hull.

James has recorded some of the challenges here.

Four years and 8 months later, today, Saba was splashed, and James is feeling giddy.

I am sure he will share images of this day. For now, I am happy that he can feel the joy of getting back on the Gulf and sailing.
:biggrin:
Way to go, James!

Well first thing was. of course, the Engine and Genset Start Battery was weak. But we came prepared with a new one. :clap:

Then no matter what we did, nothing would start. Hmmmm?

The Yard had disconnected power that kept a float charge on the House Batteries. Without those, nothing in the DC panel works.:facepalm:

So back in Blocks today.

Good to see her floating and no leaks.

:beer::beer:
