S2 8.5 Bulkhead shift???

Early this summer, I noticed a crack/split in the trim piece over the dooor leading into the head. As I had a tube of thicken epoxy in my hand at the time, I filled in the crack and forgot about it.

A week ago I noticed that I now have another larger crack/split on the same side below the repaired first crack. So now I'm worried and not sure what's causing this.

The chainplates all appear sound, no apparent leaking, staining etc. The trim piece seems to be pushing from port to starboard, so I'm wondering if perhaps my shrouds on the port side are too tight, putting too much stress on the bulkheads. Or is the compression post compromised and not distributing pressure properly. I'll check the through bolts which connect the s/b bulkhead to the beam on the other side, but I don't think there's anything amiss.

Any ideas, thoughts or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like the block under your compression post might be a goner. We are seeing similar things on the 9.2A's. I have to tackle mine for sure. The head door is obviously badly out of alignment.

Thanks, I read a number of posts last night and note the compression post trend. Question is, how to get at it, as there is no access. I'm thinking that cutting into the shower pan a few inches opposite the post might be best. The fiberglass pan should be easy to repair and for the most part out of sight. Any reason not to go with this strategy?

Similar issue on my 8.5. I'm not sure if its the bulkhead dropping (if the bulkhead drops wouldn't that trim piece also drop with the bulkhead), or if something is causing pressure on the trim piece alone.

Pictures of builkhead under the sole (salon side) do not show any apparent disturbance or the tabbing. Bulkhead seems to be solid at the bottom per the pics.

Hmmm?? Has anyone tackled this project??
