Early this summer, I noticed a crack/split in the trim piece over the dooor leading into the head. As I had a tube of thicken epoxy in my hand at the time, I filled in the crack and forgot about it.
A week ago I noticed that I now have another larger crack/split on the same side below the repaired first crack. So now I'm worried and not sure what's causing this.
The chainplates all appear sound, no apparent leaking, staining etc. The trim piece seems to be pushing from port to starboard, so I'm wondering if perhaps my shrouds on the port side are too tight, putting too much stress on the bulkheads. Or is the compression post compromised and not distributing pressure properly. I'll check the through bolts which connect the s/b bulkhead to the beam on the other side, but I don't think there's anything amiss.
Any ideas, thoughts or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated.
