Rusty Keel bolt Maintinance

Hello
I have a 71' Catalina 27. The keel bolts(not stainless steel) are solid but do have some rust. I don't get alot of water in the bildge but I just cant stand the thought of them in the water Is there anything I can apply to them to protect them without sealing the rust in to fester.

I know I am not alone Thanks

when we had our boat hauled for our first time, we had them change out the keel bolts for SS and I don't recall it being that huge an expense.......

I had keel nuts on my 1979 27' catalina rusted on so tight you would of needed a blow torch to get them off. I just screwed on new ss nuts and fender washers over top of the rusted ones. Every few months I crank them down a little more. I figure sooner or later the old ones will just turn to rust and be gone with my ss nuts doing the job.
