My rudder has quite a bit of play. It bumps around so much that I have to lash it up any time I want to sleep on the boat. Is this normal (boat is 1987) or have my connections worn down?
...to replace the pins in the steering arm. They wear and cause a rattle. You should also place thin teflon washers, top and bottom, while you have the pins and steering link out.e-mail me if you like: outhaul@yahoo.comCheers,Bob
In my experience Bob is right. Over time and how the boat has been moored {bouy or dock} will determine the longevity of the hardware. You can E-mail or call Edson for replacement parts.
