Rudder Line Question

I recently purchased an Oday DSII but it has a DSIII rudder, I took the rudder assembly apart to clean it and I cannot remember how the line is rigged from the Rudder up through the plate assembly to the tiller? Does anyone have a diagram or could explain how to run the line?

My DS II has the original all fiberglass kick-up rudder, so I can't really help. However, the rudder that you describe may actually be a DS II rudder, the later models (1983-85) of the DS II had a rudder with a wood blade and an aluminum top assembly (same as the DS III).
I'd say if all else fails, give Rudy at D&R Marine a call (508) 644-3001, he builds those rudders like yours and should be able to give you advice.

I would just experiment with the different ways the rudder blade pendant line can be routed in the rudder head and work best. Here's some pics of my O'Day 222 rudder head that you can get some ideas from.
