They're just very expensive air fresheners
You can accomplish at least as much with a can of Oust.Ionizers and ozone generators are not recommended for use on boats or any other enclosed space...they're corrosive...highly damaging to rubber and hoses...and can also be a health hazard. Only licensed techs can use machines that produce enough ozone to kill the source of odors...the best that any retail unit can do is remove the odor from the air.Yes, people who’ve bought them DO rave do about how well they work. But among all the people you know who’ve bought ozone generators, have you ever met anyone who has one who's ever been able to turn if off without having odors return? That should be enough to tell you that ozone generators are only very expensive air fresheners, because they don't deliver enough ozone to be anything else. Save your money and get rid of the SOURCES of your odors. Eliminating the source is the only thing that really works. Clean the bilge--really CLEAN it for a change, instead of only dumping in more bilge cleaner and/or bleach...clean your sumps....put your cushions out the sun for a day...maybe replace your sanitation hoses. And check out the link below.
