That is not a Profurl. I think it is an old Hood furler. The line shouldn't be wrapped and knotted like that. Cut the knot, remove the line, and it should be obvious how a new line attaches.
Mark, same sentiment here. That looks like a Hood furler; not a Profurl. The design strongly resembles the Hood furler on my previous Hunter; however, I had the continuous furling line model. @Kraffert photos appear to show an “open“ drum, not a closed drum that was used in the continuous line model.

Here is an image of the Hood furler. There are striking similarities to the one you show only located below deck as some Hunters were set up.

Jssailem I have the same metal brace with the cotter pin in it as shown in your picture on my furler. I have tried to raise the furler, but I can not get that brace off as it is very stiff and the centering clamp is directly under the pin so the pin can not be pushed in. Have you had this issue?
