Any company/service for roadside assistance on Floridas west coast ? Besides the big insurance companies . Such won't touch my boat since is a 1976 Bristol 24(too old they say) as always, your input is great... ALSO if you know of a marina that can step the mast in this boat. Thx again
Sincerely
CRivera

Do I understand correctly that someone won't offer roadside assistance to a boat because it is too old? Do they think the boat has tires to go flat or bearings to seize? Did they even ask the year of the trailer?

As I understand Roadside Assistance that BoatUS offers it is for the trailer, not the boat. And age matters for the trailer.

Insurance is a different matter. Companies are reluctant to insure low value boats that are over 30 years old. Some will grant liability only, but not hull insurance. The reason is simple, it doesn't take much to declare a low value boat a total constructive loss.

For a boat like yours, it is probably easiest to just add it to your homeowner's insurance if you have that.

Geico will insure it and offers roadside and on water towing. Both add on options are inexpensive. On water towing is like $50/year

When you say roadside assistance for towing the only realistic answer in my understanding is to go to AAA plus. Of course somewhat useless if you wanna get towed back to the dock because your motor blew up. On the other hand if your transmission went out and you are 10 miles away from the destination, basic towing insurance will only get your car towed to the nearest gas station while leaving your trailer with boat parked back on the road wherever you broke down, AAA plus however will also tow the trailer and boat without charging for a second truck if needed. Lesson happily learned on a trip in California on Hwy. US 101 when I lost the CV joint in my van. (nearest gas station 17 miles real repair shop was 45 miles)
*there may be restrictions and limits that are different in Florida than from Oregon/Idaho

I've used Farmers and State Farm for towing of trailers when my tow vehicle broke down, .
I pay roughly $20 a year for towing insurance .I've never been asked anything about what was on the trailer or how old it was

Don't sign up for Good Sam. It'll take like three years for them to stop hounding you for renewals. Lot's of junk mail and ads. I'm pretty sure they sold my info as well
