I am planning to switch from end boom to mid boom sheeting & will install a Harken traveler over the companionway. Does anyone have experience in fabricating a pair of teak riser blocks for the track? The installation is on a 1978 Catalina 30. Thomas

You can spend the $$ on a Harken

but you may want to consider getting in touch with Garhauer, who may know your boat better than you do - they specialize in equipment and have been providing it for Catalina for over 25 years. They make superb equipment and surely have your answer already.

Garhauer

Exactly as Stu mentioned, Garhauer is the way to go. Their straight track traveler includes the end supports so you don't need the teak blocks. In my case, I already had the teak blocks so when I converted from the curve track traveler to the straight track I elected to keep the blocks and they have an application that allowed me to do that. If you decide to call Garhauer, ask for Guido or Mark and tell them Don Guillette told you to call. They will take excellent care of you. They would anyway even if you did not use my name.
