retrofitting daylight

I have an '88 C30. I have noticed that earlier models have overhead salon hatches and later models have a portlight (closed) for the aft double berth and one for the port side of the salon. Has anyone done this (or thought about it)? It would seem to be a fairly easy mod, if you had the hatch/portlight as installed by the factory, and would definitely brighten things up down below. Thanks.

I have aC30 1988 and I have a 16x16

hatch behind my mast about4" and it is nice Ive allso seen hatchs in the head and in the companion way that open the newer boats have lines run back to the cockpit where the hatchs where on the solon roof.I was thinking that some new poly or lexon side windows in a lighter tint would cheer things up.The small opening port lights in the head and solon are alot less tinted and they are nice to look out of . A wind scoop on the frount hatch is almost like haveing A/C on a windy day or night.  John Olson
