Replacing the Wet Exhaust Hose

On my 2000 Hunter 340, I have to replace the Wet Exhaust Hose from the Muffler to Hull exit. It developed a pinhole or crack, naturally behind the hose where I can‘t see it.
It’s leaking in the rear starboard locker. Fortunately it looks like a straight run from the muffler to the rear locker until the loop.
I’ve asked here on the SBO site, I would to know the Inside Dimension and approximately the length of new hose needed from anyone who has done this job and any guidance you can offer.
It will be my winter project this.

It is most likely 2" ID. To get a fairly accurate length you can run a plumbing snake (or garden hose in a pinch) through the hose, but you'll need to disconnect it from the muffler and probably where it exits the hull. At that time, you can measure the ID. Add a bit of length to the new hose so you don't come up short.

The information you are looking for should be stamped on the hose itself regarding the diameter. I took mine out and stretched it on the ground and measured it. It was 12 feet.

Thanks Brian / Joe. That’s what I thought when I looked at it this morning.
To be honest I wasn’t in a very good mood when I wrote this post. Seeing a small puddle under the hose where it exits the into the locker just ps..d me off.
The arrows in my photos are NOT where the leaks are coming from, they’re only there to point out the hose itself. As someone thought it was the macerater hose I was talking about.
The leak is actually at the left side of the top of the loop and it drips down the hose and forms the puddle. Not a lot, but a leak for sure.
My plan was to do as you suggested when the boat comes out next week. Disconnect the ends and run a snake in it.
My concern is it a one man job. Any sealants involved.

My manual, which has a wealth of information in it, doesn’t cover this item very well at all. It simply says Wet Exhaust Hose.
I did try to find a marking on it somewhere telling me the dimension but, if you can believe it, whoever put this in managed to lay the entire hose with only the words you can see showing in my photos. So frustrating!
I didn’t want to take off too many of the brackets holding it in place and start moving the hose. If this is brittle in any other areas other than the high side now, I didn’t want a disaster on my hands while still in the water.

My concern is it a one man job. Any sealants involved.

One man job which I installed about 5 years ago. Absolutely no sealants anywhere. The hose in the loop looks different than the other hose upstream. The protruding reinforcing wire is likely what caused your leaks.

Follow the instructions above for length.

The hose next to your macerator is the factory install which came with my boat. Lasted 20 years without any complaints. Don't cut corners here with $$$ as you're not worried about the water leaks, it's the CO leaks which will get you first.

All good to know. It‘s the same hose for the entire run. It was pointed out to me that the size and type is noticeable if I had looked closer. And Mike here on the SBO site confirmed it as well.
It is 2 inch - Type 252 Corrugated Hose. Total run of exhaust hose used was 15 feet. But that takes into account the section of hose from the mixing elbow to the muffler as well. I will measure from the muffler to the exhaust port once I’m out of the water.
My photos weren’t the best taken and in my defense I wasn’t in the greatest of moods at the time.

If you have a tough time getting the hose on a fitting, use some hand sanitizer. It will evaporate when you're done installing. I've used soap, grease, even picked up some conduit lubricant but those all leave something behind

I’ve got the lubricants onboard. Now I have to find my Hose removal pick. I know I have a set of those around here somewhere, just in case this hose gets really stuck on. Thanks for the suggestions
