I am going to tackle replacing the teak handrails, companionway, ect on my 1985 Catalina 30'. Has anyone done this before on their boat? I am not quiet sure how to go about taking them off.
I have basicly the same setup on my Newport and I just sanded it and refinished it where it stands. I'll post some pics when I go to the boat next week if you like.
The wood was not taken care of by prior owner. It is not only very dry but there are deep ridges in it as well. I have the ability to have new peices made for pennies on the dollar. I would like to know how difficult it will be to get them off and new ones back on.
JayDog:H&L Marine in Rancho Dominquez may have the pieces that you need. They probably were the OEM for all of the interior and exterior wood on your boat.I don't know if this number is current, but you can try it.H & L Marine 323/636-17182965 Harcourt StRanco Dominquez, CA 90221 Good Luck.
