Since we're dodging thunderstorms here, I spent some time on the boat early this morning looking at the Fresh Water Line. At best, as it sits now, there is less than 3 inches of play in the line. Looks like it just turned into a winter project, if I can get back to the Tank and start new from there.
What I plan now is to copy the Strainer Bowls I made years ago for my AC and Raw Water winterizing. I never did this for the Fresh Water as I just pumped antifreeze through the line by hand.
Now 20 years later I want it easier.
I bought a replacement Cap for the AC Strainer and Bowl for the Raw Water. Drilled a hole in each, tapped and epoxied a hose fitting into each. I just connect a hose to a 5 gallon bucket and let the pumps draw the antifreeze through. A little worn for age but they work great.
I'll pick up a Jabsco Strainer Cap, drill and tap a 15 mm fitting into it like the other 2 and just place a hose into the antifreeze and let the pump do the work. I can isolate the heater and should make it easier to winterize.
Now if the weather will break we can get back to the important stuff.
