I received a replacement push button latches from Amazon for one of the cupboards. Removing the cupboard hole insert/collar on the door from the old latch is proving difficult. Has anyone successfully removed one of these and if so what technique did u use? I tried unscrewing it and also pulling straight out without success. Thanks!

I assume you mean something like below? If you’re trying to remove the trim ring, it has to be driven out from the back side. I’ve used a correct size socket to as a driving pin.

The problem is that it usually chips the finished wood on the outside of your drawer/door. I’ve been successful handling the chips delicately and pushing right back down with a little wood glue under them and tapping-in the new trim collar.

if you have a couple to do, consider to start with one that’s kind of hidden from view, to get an idea how it will go. After doing one, you should be a pro.

I agree with @Marmalade on the procedure... I have never tried to remove one before,. Does the latch come out minus the trim collar? If it does, try to order direct replacements from spareparts.beneteau.com and see if you can replace it without removing the collar. You might also try spraying the interior of the collar with compressed air or try some other method of chilling it before trying to drive it out, that might help with the chipping problem.
Good luck!

I replaced one some years ago on my Hunter 386. I assume you removed the screws from the inside. Can upi remove the lock leaving the outside flange in place then reinstall the new push button latch?

if you can’t leave in place and reuse with the new latch you might try something like a plumbers internal pipe wrench which would allow you to slowly twist it out or a make fine cuts along the barrel through he door with a hack saw blade to allow the diameter of the trim in the wood to be reduced and hopefully eliminating the tear out.

Cut trim similar to this:
