I'm giving strong consideration to replacing the original alum. water tank (124gal) on my H-45. I'd appreciate any input especially from someone who has done this project on an H-45. The alum. tank does not leak but it is covered with some type of growth (calcium ?) The growth surrounds the outlet nipple and from time to time chunks of this stuff breakoff and clog the water line. I recently cut an 8" inspection plate (now I wish I hadn't)and discovered this growth. I've treated it with white vinegar but after leaving a 50% solution in the tank for a week it hasn't made a difference. My wife can't believe we've used this tank for drinking water for the last 10 yrs. From what I can understand the best replacement would be a polyprop tank. Anyway, any intelligent suggestions would be appreciated.
