Looks Great. How did you achieve the needed thickness of sealant to maintain the adhesion thru temperature changes?

^^ The 3M VHB tape used to mount the windows is 1/8-inch thick and tolerates movement. Spacers are typically used to keep the edge clearances right. The back side can also be beveled slightly.

The other important factor is to keep window sections less than about 30 inches. If the windows are longer than this, the differencial expansion really becomes a problem. My PDQ had zero problems (windows were broken into manageable sections) but my F-24 windows came loose at both front edges (54 inches). When replacing them, I broke them into ~ 26" sections by taking advantage of wide sash/pillar in the inside. I would have added a pillar if it had not existed.

(yes, I have done this)

@Hayden Watson , this picture may clarify my question a little better than the previous example. Sorry for the repeat.

On the green line. But on my F-24 they filled much of the aft area with VHB tape (still a good sealant gap), which made them a BUGGER to prep. That is a LOT of VHB tape to scrape off. A heat gun is your friend. And Ibuprophen.
