Hello Everyone: I am shopping for my first sailboat. I have come across an ad for a Pearson 23' - and the owner doesn't know the exact year but thinks it is in the 1970s, so it is an old boat. And, one would expect things to need fixing, but on the phone they tell me that the boat doesn't have its Centerboard. It is missing completely. Just simply not there. I am not one to quibble with the seller, but I ask, isn't that a vital part of the boat (even more so than the motor - which also isn't there!)
But, the price is cheap enough (basically he wants it off his yard- so maybe he should be paying me to take it) so, here's my question: where can one get a new centerboard for a 1970's model Pearson 23'? If you know, please let me know. Maybe its worth it for me to get a new one.
Thank you!
