Very close to the recent pedestal painting discussion, but this is about repainting my wheel. The original paint was peeling badly on the spokes, I was doing a project at work where I had a sandblaster going, so I blasted the whole wheel down to bare metal. The wheel is cast steel and as you can see by the photos it has some pretty significant pitting from the sandblasting.
I'm kind of figuring using some kind of auto body filler primer and then alot of hand sanding to get it smooth, and then maybe some of the epoxy appliance paint talked about in the pedestal painting post. Any thoughts on my plan or specific products to use?
New stainless wheel is $191 from a discount online boat store, but I want to avoid that if I can get it looking nice for short money.
