Any guidance or tips for removal of these injectors will be greatly appreciated.
I need to send these for testing.
Thanks.

Well not to be stating the obvious, take off the fuel line and unscrew it. Kinda like taking off a spark plug except the fuel line is the spark plug cable. I suspect that a picture would tell more of the tale but that is all I can offer without more info

Injectors
No direct experience with your Westerbeke but on my 42B, I removed the supply and return fuel lines and the injectors were held down with a u shaped bracket with a nut on a stud that held the injector in place. Once every thing is cleared I gently moved the injector back and forth until it became free. They were a VERY tight fitting. From there on they lifted out. I numbered them for reference. After testing and rebuilding, the rebuilder also included the crush washers, one under the injector and two for the fuel line. Interestingly, there was no crush washer under the injector when I removed it. After rebuild, I no longer had to use wide open throttle and now seldom use the preheaters to start the engine.

Need a long wrench to break them loose, alot of torque holding them down.
Also need absorbing mat for all the fuel you will dump. Not a hard job

Thanks mates. Will try as suggested.
Most obliged. Question was obvious but I'm a terrible mechanic to use even the descriptive term. So all tips most welcomed.

Where are you going to take the injectors for testing and cleaning?
I should do that with my Yanmar.

Had them removed n reconditioned in Richmond BC. 2yrs ago but engine still stalling due really to dirty fuel (poor mechanics' advices resulting in $$$$).
Now he says maybe westerbeke injectors fails in higher running temp which injectors people disagree n will test f free.
Cannot afford mechanics previous charge or $600 f removal n replacement.

What is the name of the shop and do you recommend them?

Fred Holmes injectors.
Raj said they'll test for free, so it's good. Don't know about others. Dare not dismantle the injectors.
Techs coming to polish fuel n clean tank tonite. Pray that'll solve the problem of stalling.

On my Yanmar it was only a $20 difference between rebuild and new. I chose new.

Guan, stalling can be several things. Generally associated with fuel starvation.
  1. Bad fuel, try polishing or adding treatments to clean up fuel
  2. Filter clogging. Replace with clean filter
  3. Fuel partial blockage. Clean lines. In tank pickup, all line bends, all line connections. I found a jelly like goo in the filter intake that came from the tank. Diesel can form several types of material that can cause blocking or partial blocking of your lines. Low fuel flow can cause the motor to be starved.
I opened each point of constriction and either wiped, blew, or pushed with a dowel and brush the lines clean. Once assembled the issue has not reappeared.

Thanks.
The professionals polished fuel n clean tank. Now.
Had done, filters, exhaust elbow, new fuel pump, replaced engine mounts.
Injectors reconditioned.
Only don't know how to blow out line.
Engine always run well even to max, tied up to dock.
Hope no more stalling. Will report.
Just making Ctow rich.

If your fuel lines are older than like 10 years just replace them instead of trying to clean them out. You can get fuel line at auto parts stores and it is not that expensive. Also not that hard to remove and replace. I've seen old fuel lines crack open and leak fuel. Check your bilge and see if you have any fuel leaking.

Dave.... I think you are speaking about the fuel lines from the tank to the input of the high pressure pump.

Not the lines that run to the injectors. The high pressure injector lines are specific for your engine. They have a certain length and regulate the fuel timing. These can be cleaned and reassembled but need new copper washers when assembled, to avoid leaks.

John, Agreed but also the fuel return line back to the tank should be replaced if aged. The lines feeding the injectors should be purchased from an engine parts supplier. Most likely any contaminants in the lines would be in front of the primary filter as the filter should remove any contaminants. Fuel starvation typically shows up as an engine that will idle but die when you try to add power unless it is so clogged that it won't even start. If you have an electric fuel pump upstream of your primary filter see if it has a removable filter and whether that is clogged with goo also. Finally check your pickup tube in your tank to see if there is a restriction in that. Some talk over the years about pickup tubes with strainers on the end that clog up with diesel gunk. If Guan could be more descriptive of the symptoms it would help to diagnose. Is it running fine at high RPM's and suddenly stalls? Is it running and stalls when you put it in gear and add power, etc.

Latest update:after a few thousands spent, this stalling seems to be solved by a 900$ fuel and tank polishing. Motor ran OK, even managed revs to 3200!
So as in all advice, it's Fuel, fuel, fuel. Dirty fuel.
Thanks to all.
